About Sydney Lee

After growing up in Montana, I recently relocated to the Seattle area and can't wait to explore this beautiful city, full of new adventures and opportunities.

I have been writing for as long as I can remember, but my first achievements date back to elementary school when I found that my passion and talent coincide.

I have been chasing a career in writing ever since. My first published piece was featured in a magazine in Bozeman, Montana, where I attended Montana State University and got my degree.

I excel when using fun and unique perspectives to highlight small businesses, human interest stories, and community impact. In Montana, community is everything and I was grateful to be a part of local experiences. I hope to immerse myself in other areas as I find my place in Washington.

In my free time you'll find me reading, working on my novel, (obviously, right?), training for my next race, hiking with my dog, swimming, or traveling.

ARTICLE: Heart of the Valley

Heart of the Valley is currently in need of foster volunteers. If interested, the shelter requires an online application and a training orientation to ensure all applicants are prepared to foster the animals in need. Primarily, they are looking for fosters of kittens and puppies awaiting their spay or neuter. This could be anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks of care, with all needs provided by the shelter, including food and bedding. Alternatively, Heart of the Valley is also seeking sleepover volunteers. With this program, foster parents can opt to take a long term stay dog just for the night. This provides the dog with reduced stress and a loving home to feel safe in for a sleepover. If interested, make sure to check out the website for opportunities to help.

ARTICLE: 4/06 Day: An Appreciation of the Montana Spirit

Only in Montana can you find the perfect combination of colossal mountains, raging rivers, sprawling plains, deep valleys, and massive grain fields. With snow covered crests, and luscious green and golden grasslands, the uniqueness of the state is not lost to those who reside in it. Montana is one-of-a-kind, filled with rich history and kind-hearted inhabitants who appreciate its beauty and ever changing views and weather. With an expanse large enough to accommodate such differing landscapes, it may come as a shock to out-of-staters that Montana has just one area code, 406.
